The ULT-MVP-2E is a 2-channel loop detector with AB Logic direction detection, ideal for separated entry/exit lanes and access control where travel direction matters. Multi-voltage (12–240V), Detect-On-Stop™ technology, and 10 sensitivity levels for stable, false-trigger-free detection.
For access control with multiple traffic directions or separated entry and exit lanes, it's often not enough to simply know that a vehicle is present — the direction of travel matters too. EMX Industries' ULT-MVP-2E is a 2-channel loop detector that solves this with independent detection per loop and built-in direction logic.
Like the 1-channel version, the sensor operates on a universal power range of 12 to 240V (AC/DC), making it deployable across virtually any existing installation. The key difference is the AB Logic function: by placing two loops in sequence and wiring them to channels A and B, the detector automatically recognizes whether a vehicle is entering or exiting. This makes the ULT-MVP-2E ideal for separated entry/exit detection, anti-tailgating at barriers, and direction-dependent signaling.
As with the rest of the range, the exclusive Detect-On-Stop™ technology ensures detection only occurs once a vehicle has actually come to a stop on the loop, preventing false triggers from crossing traffic. Setup is handled via 10 sensitivity levels and 4 frequency settings, with automatic calibration for quick commissioning.
Both channels have their own relay outputs (SPDT, Form C), so presence or pulse signals per loop can be passed independently to the gate or barrier controller. The rugged housing (73×38×78mm, IP30) and 11-pin DIN-rail connector make installation into existing operator housings straightforward.
Beyond its core functionality, the ULT-MVP-2E includes built-in surge protection, safeguarding the electronics against voltage spikes from lightning or switching events in the installation — relevant for outdoor installations where cabling is exposed to the elements. The sensor can be mounted via a DIN-rail socket or wired directly with a harness, offering flexibility for both new builds and retrofit projects. The IP30 housing suits mounting in control cabinets and operator enclosures, with a relay contact rated for 2A at 30VDC or 0.5A at 125VAC for direct control of most gate and barrier controllers.
Applications: parking garages with separated entry/exit lanes, barriers with direction detection, and more complex access control systems for business parks and gated communities.
