DAK-USVD Drive-Thru Alert Kit with Chime

The DAK-USVD is a drive-thru alert kit consisting of the USVD-4X ultrasonic vehicle sensor and the CHIME-100 sound module. The system automatically and audibly alerts staff as soon as a vehicle arrives, ideal for fast food restaurants, banks and car washes.

  • Staff automatically alerted to an arriving vehicle
  • Stays audible in busy, noisy work environments
  • No digging or inductive loop required
  • Immediately operational, no further calibration
  • Flexible settings for arrival, departure or both

DAK-USVD Drive-Thru Alert Kit with Chime

At a drive-thru, whether it's a fast food restaurant, a bank, or a car wash, the customer experience largely depends on how quickly staff notice a vehicle has arrived. An employee working with their back to the window can easily miss a car that has pulled up, especially in a busy or noisy environment. The DAK-USVD solves this with a combination of vehicle detection and an audible signal, so staff aren't dependent on visual monitoring.

Two components, one complete system

The kit consists of two parts: the USVD-4X, an ultrasonic vehicle sensor, and the CHIME-100, a sound module that provides an audible alert on detection. The sensor mounts on a post, order box, or building facade and is aimed at the desired detection zone. No inductive loop or digging is required: the USVD-4X operates entirely using four ultrasonic transducers that scan the area.

Built for noisy work environments

The CHIME-100 is specifically designed to stay audible in a busy kitchen or a noisy work environment, with adjustable volume up to 100 dBA at 1.5 metres and a choice of six different alert tones. For a fast food location with multiple sound sources at once (kitchen equipment, staff, music), that's a real difference compared to a standard, quieter signal that gets lost easily.

Flexible signalling

The sensor offers two Form C relay outputs and can be set to pulse on entry, pulse on exit, or both simultaneously, with an adjustable delay of 1, 2, or 4 seconds. That makes it possible to tailor the system to the exact workflow of the location: an alert only on arrival, or also a signal when a customer drives away.

Simple installation, no further calibration

Unlike many other detection technologies, the USVD-4X requires no additional calibration after mounting. The sensor is installed roughly 55 to 60 centimetres above the pavement, aimed at the desired zone, and is immediately operational. The included 7.5-metre cable connects the sensor to the chime module, making most installations a matter of mounting and wiring, with no programming required.

Where this is used in practice

The DAK-USVD is widely used at fast food restaurants, banks with a drive-thru window, car washes, and parking or access points where staff need to be alerted remotely to an arriving vehicle. For operators of these kinds of locations, the system means fewer missed customers due to unnoticed arrivals, and a more consistent response time, regardless of how busy things get.
