Two complementary mounting solutions for photoeyes: the PhotoeyeVault, an enclosed steel bollard for visible, vulnerable locations, and the 325-POST-2, an open, lightweight post for fast, budget-friendly mounting. The 325-POST-2 is also the only mounting option for the MRD-1P radar sensor.
PhotoeyeVault
Type: Enclosed, two-piece bollard housing
Material: 11-gauge steel
Weight: approx. 9.5 kg
Compatibility: IRB-RET2, IRB-MON2, IRB-4X2, IRB-325
Mounting: internal, adjustable slotted base plate
Not compatible with: MRD-1P
325-POST-2
Type: Open, square mounting post
Material: 0.125-inch steel, black powder coat
Weight: approx. 5 kg
Compatibility: IRB-RET2, IRB-MON2, IRB-4X2, IRB-325, NIR-50, MRD-1P
Mounting: external, pre-indented drill points
A photoeye or sensor screwed loosely to a wall or post often looks improvised and is vulnerable to vandalism, weather exposure, or unintended impact. For projects where both protection and a polished appearance matter, a well-considered mounting solution delivers a considerably more professional end result. Secumatic supplies two complementary mounting options, each suited to a slightly different situation.
The PhotoeyeVault is a fully enclosed, two-piece bollard made of 11-gauge steel that completely conceals and protects the sensor from vandalism, weather exposure, and impact. For architecturally finished entrances or locations where sabotage is a real risk, this solution offers both functional protection and a presentable appearance. Internal mounting patterns make the PhotoeyeVault directly compatible with the IRB-RET2, IRB-MON2, IRB-4X2, and IRB-325 photoeyes, with adjustable mounting via a slotted base plate for precise positioning.
The 325-POST-2 is an open, square mounting post made of 0.125-inch steel, considerably lighter (5 kg versus 9.5 kg for the PhotoeyeVault) and faster to install thanks to pre-indented drill points, with no measuring or templates required. This option isn't an enclosing housing, but a practical, cost-effective post on which the sensor mounts externally, ideal for utility applications, warehouses, or service areas where speed and budget outweigh presentability.
A crucial difference between the two options: the MRD-1P radar presence sensor is only compatible with the 325-POST-2, not the PhotoeyeVault. For projects using this specific sensor, the 325-POST-2 isn't a choice but a requirement.
Choose the PhotoeyeVault when the sensor is placed in a visible location where both appearance and protection against sabotage matter, such as a presentable building entrance. Choose the 325-POST-2 for fast, functional mounting in utility environments, or when the MRD-1P is being deployed. Both options are compatible with the core photoeyes in the range (IRB-RET2, IRB-MON2, IRB-4X2, IRB-325), so the choice doesn't need to be based on sensor compatibility, except specifically with the MRD-1P.
