This direct burial version is installed entirely underground in asphalt or concrete, providing an unobtrusive, rugged solution with no visible components in the road surface.
The sensor uses 3-axis (X/Y/Z) magnetoresistive detection technology to measure disturbances in the earth's magnetic field caused by vehicles — an alternative to traditional induction loops that doesn't require a full loop cut, but must withstand permanent exposure to moisture, traffic loads, and temperature swings. The IP69K rating guarantees waterproofing and mechanical resilience, even under heavy use.
Combined with the CS303-C-1 controller, the CS303-DB delivers a detection range of up to 1.5 meters with a response time of approximately 125ms — fast enough for barriers and gate automation where an immediate reaction to approaching vehicles is required.
The CS303-DB stores calibration and configuration settings in non-volatile memory, so the sensor resumes correct operation immediately after a power interruption without reprogramming. Programmable logic functions are available via the CS303-C-1 controller, and the combination of an SPDT relay output with an NPN open-collector output provides flexibility when integrating with a wide range of control systems. With an IP69K rating for the sensor itself, the CS303-DB withstands pressure washing, relevant for installations at car washes, loading docks, and other environments with frequent cleaning.
This version is ideally suited to new-build projects and permanent installations at business parks, parking garages, and gated communities, where a single, long-lasting installation is preferred over periodic road maintenance.
