WEL-200 Wireless Safety Edge Link

The WEL-200 is a wireless link between a safety edge on a moving door panel and the controller, compliant with UL325. By eliminating wiring to the moving part, the WEL-200 simplifies installation and reduces the risk of faults.

  • No wiring to a moving door panel required
  • Meets UL325 monitoring standards
  • Up to 2 years battery life, low maintenance
  • Extensive diagnostics for troubleshooting
  • Up to 4 transmitters connectable to one receiver

WEL-200 Wireless Safety Edge Link

At a sliding gate or a moving door panel fitted with a safety edge, a practical wiring problem arises: the edge sits on a moving part, while the controller stays put. A physical cable connection between the two then has to move along, which over time can lead to wear, cable breakage, or faults. The WEL-200 solves this by making the connection between safety edge and controller entirely wireless.

No wiring to a moving part

The transmitter mounts directly at the safety edge, on the moving part of the gate or door, and communicates wirelessly with the receiver at the controller. That eliminates the need for a trailing cable, cable chain, or other mechanical solution to keep the wiring following the moving path, simplifying installation and removing a known source of faults.

UL325 compliant, with common monitoring methods

The WEL-200 supports the common monitoring methods for safety edges: normally closed, 10K resistive termination, and pulse output, and complies with UL325-2018 monitoring standards. The transmitter is compatible with both 8.2K and 10K monitored safety edges, making the WEL-200 broadly deployable across different types of edge sensors.

Wide range and multiple transmitters per receiver

With a range up to 60 metres line of sight, and the ability to connect up to four transmitters to a single receiver with separate relay and pulse outputs for open and close functions, the WEL-200 suits gates with multiple safety edges or more complex configurations without creating a tangle of wiring.

Long battery life, low maintenance

The transmitter runs for up to two years on two AA lithium batteries, keeping maintenance to a minimum. The receiver offers extensive diagnostics, with feedback for every fault condition: an open or shorted edge, low battery voltage, or a transmitter that's no longer responding, so problems can be traced quickly without extensive troubleshooting.

Rugged housing for outdoor use

Both the transmitter and receiver are housed in watertight NEMA 4X enclosures, suitable for permanent outdoor applications at gates and doors exposed to the weather.

Where this is used in practice

The WEL-200 is mainly used at sliding gates and other moving door constructions where a safety edge is mounted on the moving part, and where a physical cable connection to the controller would be impractical, fault-prone, or costly to implement.
